Ice fishing huts, called “bob houses” on New Hampshire’s Gregg Lake. Someone told me they get their name from the way they bob up and down in the water if left out when the ice gives way.

Ice fishing field trip

This was the coldest field trip I have even participated in. The wind whipped across the lake and the temp. was in the single digits – not including the wind chill.

Oh how neat. I’ve never been ice fishing before. It sounds like great fun. I wonder what they fish for.

We just had friends up for the weekend and we had to explain what those huts on the river were- they were intrigued!! I LOVE that it was a school field trip to visit the ice fishing huts. You have a great blog here- the winter photos are stunning 🙂

I tried to leave a comment on your “100 posts” & it wouldn’t let me.

    Congrats on 100!

Have fun with the change up. 🙂
